The Ripon Police Department has assumed responsibility for the response to municipal code violations. Staff responds both to complaints of violations, as well as observed violations of the Ripon Municipal Code.
Violations range from illegal fencing that obstructs roadway visibility and poses safety hazards, to abandoned vehicle abatement, to excessive weeds/vegetation which may pose safety or fire hazards.
Code Enforcement will assist you in any way possible. However, some issues may require referral to a different department or agency for resolution. Ripon Code Enforcement cannot help citizens rectify the following problems:

Emergency situations that threaten human life or property and demand immediate attention – please call 9-1-1

Covenants, Conditions & Restrictions – (CC&R) violations

Private disputes between neighbors

Situations which are not specifically addressed in the Ripon Municipal Code.
